Which intake is better...
Of all the intakes listed on our web site, we'd suggest either the AEM or Injen Race Division intake. Each have a similar build and quality, with both securly bolting to the frame of the car and with a flexible elbow to ensure a proper and safe fit. If one of these air intake systems is not available for your car, we suggest installing a K&N, HKS or APEXi system to replace your existing stock intake to increase air flow to your engine. Just because some of these intakes do not come with piping, does not mean that intakes complete with piping are better.
Basic Intake Install
Remove the stock air intake system according to the instructions in your vehicle's repair manual. This should include the air filter, the air filter casing, the tubing from the air filter box, a variety of hose clamps and a couple of sensors which need to be handled carefully.
Set the old intake system aside. Do not discard until you have properly inspected and installed the new intake system. Install the new intake system according to the manufacturer's instructions. Refer to your vehicle's repair manual for additional information. Check the intake for play room. It needs to be tightened in the mounting to not hit other components in the engine bay.
